If you’ve been on TikTok lately, you know Pilates is the new “it girl” workout.
But here’s the big question: Should you do Reformer Pilates or Mat Pilates?
I say — both.
Here’s why, and exactly how I use them together to get a lean, sculpted body without burnout.
💡 The Difference Between Reformer Pilates & Mat Pilates
🛠️ Reformer Pilates
- Uses a machine with springs, straps, and a sliding carriage
- Adds resistance and assistance for deeper moves
- Great for alignment, strength, and flexibility
🧘♀️ Mat Pilates
- Done on the floor with your own body weight
- Improves core strength, mobility, and balance
- You can do it anywhere — no equipment needed
🌟 Why I Do Both
1. Reformer Pilates for Precision & Sculpting
The machine helps me target smaller, deep muscles I didn’t even know I had.
It’s also perfect for working around imbalances — for example, I’ve used it to even out my left and right side strength.
2. Mat Pilates for Daily Core & Flexibility Work
I can do it fasted at home before breakfast or as an evening stretch.
It keeps my core tight, improves posture, and makes me feel connected to my body.
3. They Complement Each Other
- Reformer builds strength & alignment
- Mat builds endurance & daily habit consistency
- Together = balanced, lean, feminine muscle
🔥 My Weekly Pilates Routine
- Reformer Pilates → Once a week for deep sculpting and alignment work
- Mat Pilates → 3–4x a week, especially in the mornings, to stay tight and flexible
🌸 Benefits I’ve Noticed
✅ Leaner waistline
✅ Better posture & hip alignment
✅ More core control during walks & workouts
✅ Faster flexibility gains
🪞 Final Glow-Up Tip
If you want that Hot Girl body — lean, strong, and balanced — don’t choose one over the other.
Reformer and Mat Pilates together are the perfect duo for lasting results.
Even starting with 1 Reformer class a week and adding short Mat Pilates sessions at home will change your body in weeks.
